Proteomics Surveillance of the Influenza Virus with Mass Spectrometry
Our laboratory pioneered (beginning 1999) the development and application of advanced mass spectrometry and proteomics approaches to characterise both the antigencity of the influenza virus, and also to assess the type, subtype and lineage of circulating strains directly from whole virus digests.
The combined approaches have advantages over present surveillance methods.
