Honours - how to apply
Honours study commences in February each year with applications being required in the preceding October - November.
Timeline of events
September
The School holds an Honours information evening each year where students can meet supervisors and discuss projects. This is held in conjunction with the Science Faculty's Honours Awareness week in September (although our information evening is often held the week before).
October - November
Depending on whether you are a local or international student, and whether you are currently a student of the University of Sydney, you must then submit an application by the relevant deadline in October or November.
In addition to the Faculty application procedures, the School also needs you to submit a Project Preference Form directly to the School at the same time as your main application. This form, and a list of the projects available in the School, will be available at the Honours information evening and subsequently on the website.
December - February
Offers are usually made in late December and additional offers are made to students on the reserve list if places become available.
February
Honours students usually commence study in February, which is slightly earlier than other students.

Application Deadlines
Please ensure you submit a copy of the Honours Application Form 2008 and the MMB Honours Preference Form both to the Faculty of Science and Dr Stuart Cordwell.
Semester 1, 2010 Entry
The deadline for all local Honours applications is 26th November 2009.
The deadline for all international Honours applications is 30 October 2009.
Mid-Year 2010 Entry
The School will be offering a limited number of places for students wishing to enrol beginning Semester 2, 2010. Please note that acceptance into the Honours program is dependant on satisfying the requirements of the Faculty of Science and the School. Please also note that mid-year entry is NOT possible with all supervisors. It is important that you contact potential supervisors to determine whether they will accept mid-year entrants in 2010. Admission and enrolment in the mid-year Honours program will require submission of Application forms as described above, with a submission date in mid-June 2010.
