Stephen Graham received two awards to attend the International School of Crystallography 37th Course on "Evolving Methods in Macromolecular Crystallography" held in Erice, Sicily, from 12 May to 22 May this year. Attendance at this meeting is highly competitive with only about 1/3 of applicants being accepted. A meeting focusing on methods in macromolecular crystallography is held every six years, and these have marked major milestones in the field. Stephen received a student travel grant from the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and a Fellowship from the Australian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

During the meeting Stephen won the "Erice Vaciago Award" for being the "most dynamic young (under 35) participant in the San Domenico Lecture Hall". The award comprised a certificate and cash.
