Tony Weiss elected as Chair of Gordon Conference

International delegates assembled at the August 2005 Gordon Research Conference on Elastin and the Elastic Fiber, where they elected Professor Tony Weiss as Chair of their future meeting. The election carries considerable prestige as this Gordon Research Conference is the top conference in the field.

The election of Professor Weiss by his research colleagues and peers represents the first time that an Australian will chair the USA-based meeting. Five people from the Weiss laboratory attended the recent Conference, including Professor Weiss, postdoctoral researcher Dr Suzanne Mithieux and three graduate students Leanne Dyksterhuis, Lisa Muiznieks and Steven Wise.
