School success at SPG meeting
18 Dec., 2006

At the recent Spring meeting of the Sydney Protein Group, the School had two notable successes. First, David Jacques (a student with Jill trewhella) won the SPG's Thompson Prize, for his excellent presentation on the work he carried out during his BSc. Hons year. David described neutron and X-ray diffraction experiments that allowed him to better understand the interaction between the histidine kinase KinA and its inhibitor Sda. Second, Mugda Bhati, a PhD student with Jacqui Matthews, won the BioRad-sponsored scholarship that will allow her to attend the 2007 Lorne Conference on Protein Structure and Function. Congratulations to both students!
