Postdoctoral Fellow Conference Travel Scheme

Following discussion with the Management Committee, the Head of School has decided to introduce a Conference Travel Support Scheme for Postdoctoral Researchers in the school.

Laboratory Heads are not eligible to apply for funds from this scheme.

The scheme will provide funds of up to $1,500 per year for a Postdoctoral Fellow who has successfully submitted an abstract to either a national or international research conference. Applications for support should be made by completing the form which may be downloaded from here...

Applications may be made at any time in the calendar year of the conference and must be signed by the Postdoctoral Fellow and counter-signed by their Lab Head/Supervisor and then submitted to the Administrative Office for consideration by the Head of School. Applicants must hold a Postdoctoral Fellows appointment with the school at the time the application is submitted.

To encourage Postdoctoral Fellows to attend at least one national or international conference per year, funds may not be accumulated. The scheme is introduced on a trial basis and will be reviewed after two years.
