Meeting announcement
The East Coast Protein Meeting was held recently and was a great success, judging from participant comments.
The meeting is a joint initiative by the Sydney Protein Group and the Queensland Protein Group. This two-day conference has in the past been an excellent arena for established and young protein scientists to mix on an equal footing in a relaxed atmosphere.
One of the primary goals of the meeting is to provide an opportunity for younger protein scientists to present their work - most presentations are selected from submitted abstracts. Two key note speakers, Trevor Lithgow (Uni. of Melbourne) and Jackie Wilce (now at Monash), added a little seniority to proceedings.
The Queensland Protein Group and Sydney Protein Group sponsored prizes for the best student and postdoctoral presentations.
