Programme
Keynote speaker
| Our first keynote speaker will be Prof Rob Parton from the Institute for Molecular Bioscience in Brisbane. Prof Parton is an expert in the organisation, dynamics, and functions of the cell plasma membrane with a particular focus on caveolae, a specialised domain with a distinct structure. He is an internationally recognized researcher which is reflected in his numerous contributions to the field of molecular cell biology. | ![]() |
| The second invited speaker will be A/Prof Catherine Day from the University of Otago in New Zealand. Research in her laboratory is primarily focused on understanding how a number of proteins involved in apoptosis interact. Understanding the molecular basis of these protein/protein interactions is central to elucidation of several important cellular processes. A/Prof Day is an outstanding structural biologist with some great publications. | ![]() |
Detailed Scientific Programme
The detailed scientific programme will consist of six sessions (a short one on Friday, three on Saturday and two on Sunday). The conference will start on Friday from 3 pm and end on Sunday at 2 pm. A final version of the programme can be found here.
Social Programme
The East Coast Protein Meeting also has a fairly relaxed social programme. We will have an informal dinner on Friday night and the Conference Dinner (deluxe BBQ) is scheduled for Saturday night. Delegates can enjoy the facilities and have informal discussions after Saturday lunch or on Sunday afternoon after the meeting.
